Many global brands like Nike, Adidas, Hanes, and Fruit of the Loom have production facilities or sourcing arrangements in the country. This presence not only supports local employment but also boosts technology transfer and quality standards within the industry.

Employment in the garment sector is significant, with over 120,000 direct jobs, most of them held by women. The industry is valued for providing stable incomes and training opportunities, although labor rights and wage levels are ongoing concerns among advocacy groups.
