Bavaria, a subsidiary of AB InBev, is the largest beer producer in Colombia, while Postobón is a leading soft drink manufacturer. Both companies invest in sustainability and environmentally friendly practices.

Fruit processing, particularly of bananas, mangoes, pineapples, and avocados, is growing rapidly, driven by strong international demand. Many food manufacturers are increasingly engaging in value-added processing, such as fruit pulps, jams, and dried fruit products, to improve profitability and access premium export markets.

In recent years, the Colombian government has supported the modernization of the food industry through policies aimed at increasing competitiveness, improving infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with international food safety standards.
