Elon Musk has announced the formation of a new political party called the “America Party,” with Bitcoin as a core component of its economic platform. The move comes after a public feud between Musk and President Donald Trump over government spending. Musk, who had previously served as a senior advisor to Trump, has been critical of what he calls the nation’s “one-party system” of bipartisan mismanagement of finances.

Musk has stated that the America Party will focus on fiscal conservatism and aims to challenge the existing two-party system. When asked on his social media

platform, X, whether the party would support Bitcoin, Musk replied, “Fiat is hopeless, so yes.” While the party has not yet been formally registered with the Federal Election Commission (FEC), Musk has suggested a strategy of focusing on a small number of key congressional races to serve as a decisive swing bloc on legislation.

This development follows an increase in political engagement with cryptocurrency in the US. In recent years, both Republican and Democratic candidates have

shown support for Bitcoin and other digital assets. President Donald Trump, for example, had previously pledged to create a “strategic national Bitcoin

stockpile” and accepted crypto campaign contributions. Other politicians, such as Governor Jared Polis of Colorado, have also accepted cryptocurrency
